Stems & Branches Acupuncture

1. Fewer acupuncture points are used - I often use only two or three and I have sometimes used one point!
2. I needle one arm/hand and leg/foot. Most other types of whole body acupuncture such as TCM or Five Elements use both legs/feet and both arms/hands.
3. I use a very gentle needling technique.
4. My treatments take into account the energies of Heaven and Earth, and therefore your own energies, at the time of your birth. To quote one of my acupuncture patients, "it gives you back your "Mojo"!

For the first session I will take a full history form you, any medications and supplements you may be taking and where you are in life in general. At the start of every treatment session I will assess your energy via feeling the radial artery pulses on both wrists and will have a quick look at your tongue (no need to be shy about this and it's not mandatory!). During the treatment you will have a lovely, comfy lie down on my treatment couch and the needles are in place for around half an hour.  If you are unable to lie down you can sit, stand or even walk around the clinic. I only ever needle where you are comfortable at exposing that particular area of body.  Usually this just means your lower legs and forearms.

Most of the points I use (even for back pain) are on the lower legs and arms.  It is therefore really helpful if you can come wearing loose fitting clothing, especially wide legged trousers.  Please don't buy any clothes especially for the appointment...I can work around most wardrobes!

If you're thinking of starting or expanding a family then please do start having acupuncture as soon as possible.  Do not just wait for embryo transfer time, for example, if using IVF.  You never know, I have had patients that conceived naturally before they even started IVF.  It is said that it takes three to four months from making lifestyle changes to improve egg and sperm quality. So time is of the essence and book that first Fertility Acupuncture session straight away! 

The same very much applies to people looking to adopt or use a surrogate - shifting stuck energy in your own life allows new exciting things to come in rapidly. This is based on science...Quantum Physics!!

I regularly treat needle phobic patients and the beauty of the Stems and Branches form of acupuncture is that very few needles are needed.  You can change your mind during a treatment too, so you'll never feel like you're trapped on the couch until the end of the session.  Unlike some acupuncturists I stay in the room with you at all times, so any questions or problems you might have I'm immediately on hand to help.

If you really can't be convinced to have acupuncture (with needles) then I'm very happy to use acupressure (light pressing on the acupuncture points, sometimes using stick on ear seeds). Reiki always flows from my hands whether you choose to have needles or not so you're getting a free energetic bonus in every treatment!
